Basic Butter Cream (from Martha Stewart Living)
- 6 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 9 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
Combine Butter and 3 cups of confectioners' sugar, beat for 2-3 minutes, add vanilla and then add the remaining confectioners' sugar a cup at a time.
